Concordia's Advancement and Alumni Relations is seeking an intern looking to hone skills in exchange for experience. This unpaid internship requires candidates to work mostly during business hours at Concordia's Advancement and Alumni Relations Office, FB 520, 1250 Guy St.
The intern will record and edit video reports, record and edit podcasts, research and write short features for the Accent e-newsletter. Student videos may be repurposed for Concordia's internal electronic media, including the NOW e-newsletter, distributed weekly to faculty and staff, concordia.ca, and the university's YouTube channel.
Primary responsibilities:
Create and edit digital videos and podcasts
Research information, conduct interviews and write shorter articles
Fact-check
Requirements:
Strong digital video/audio recording and editing skills
Strong news sense and entrepreneurial spirit
Background in English, Communication Studies or Journalism
Thorough command of the English language
Familiarity with Word and Excel
Social media awareness is a plus
The internships will begin in late October and continue into 2013, with an average of 12 hrs./week for 13 weeks (or as required for course credit). Interested applicants must submit an up-to-date résumé, covering letter and portfolio of editing, photography and/or writing samples by October 9, 2012.
